Jim Turnage's Bio
I came to know Jesus when I was 5 years old. By 5th grade I really felt like I was starting to see God’s big picture for my life. My senior year of high school, I decided that I didn’t like God’s big picture and I ran for all I was worth. God never gave up and a year after high school I did. I was now a man on a mission. I knew what God wanted from me and I wanted to make up for the lost time resulting from my poor choices. I plowed through Bible college and dove into youth ministry. After six years at a church in Arizona, my bride of three years (Rachel… my love, my life, my wife!) and I decided to start a family. (That would be son #1, Jake)
With a new start in our family this then lead to a new start in ministry. After a year of seeking God and some amazing God encounters (you’ll have to ask us for the whole story) we found and fell in love with Malachi and ministering to military youth. Our first assignment took us to Japan where we started the Malachi youth ministry at Yokota Air Base. After five years, lots of sushi and ramen, great ministry and two more kids (That would be son #2 Jayce and daughter #1, Jessa) we went home for a much needed home assignment. The year and a half back in the states allowed us to not only raise support but to be refreshed and to find God reaffirming our call to Malachi and military ministry. We are now into our second year at our second assignment, Wiesbaden Germany. We are finding Wiesbaden not only a great place for rich ministry but just a great place to be.
