Malachi's Ministry Strategy...
is to minister to students and volunteers CORPORATELY and INDIVIDUALLY.
Corporate
First, we minister to the body of believers entrusted to our care (students and volunteers). These believers are mentored and taught to become a vibrant group of disciples. This group will be trained to stir faith development in others, becoming a community of disciples who make disciples.
There are four stages in this strategy that help students and volunteer staff develop into effective disciples:
Building: Helping believers deepen their love relationship with Jesus and His Church.
Equipping: Helping workers (student and adult) gain skills and experience in peer care.
Engaging: Helping workers (student and adult) gain skills and experience in peer outreach and ministry.
Multiplying: Releasing skilled leaders to teach and disciple others (often in a new setting: students at college, staff in a new community).
Individual
We want to meet each individual in the midst of their life experience, to help them be transformed by equipping them to be a disciple of Christ. This facet of ministry has three stages of individual care for students and volunteers as they are nurtured in the process.
The Individual is:
Engaged: Has responded to Jesus
Built: a deepened love relationship with Jesus and the Church
Equipped: with skills for peer care and outreach
Every ministry will have program elements for students regardless of their level of spiritual maturity. These programs and the leaders facilitating them seek to help students move towards becoming a fully mature disciple of Christ. Malachi seeks to provide students with individual personal care from equipped staff and volunteers who share Malachi's vision to minister to military students.
